Holy Communion is the sacrament in which Jesus is made sacramentally present as a sign of his love for us. It is received within the context of the Mass when the saving sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross is remembered and when we sacramentally enter into it.

The First Holy Communion programme at Worth Abbey Parish is offered to children who are rising 8 and slightly older. The programme is taught in 2 parts. The first set of sessions prepares the children for receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The second set of sessions prepares them for receiving their First Holy Communion. The children and families celebrate each Sacrament received with a party. Classes meet on Saturday mornings at 11.00am during term time

If you have a child who would like to make their First Holy Communion please contact Rachel Davies (details below) or the Parish Office parish@worth.org.uk

Classes begin in September 2017 for children who will turn 8 years old by May 2018 and older. Please register before the end of July.

Volunteers are needed to support our First Holy Communion candidates and their families. There are several roles available relating to welcoming and hospitality. We would also love to hear from you if you are interested in joining our team of catechists. Please contact Fr Paul if you feel you can help.
