High Weald Walking Festival, Worth Estate,  Thursday 12th and Saturday 14th September 2024

Worth Abbey Pilgrims will be supporting the High Weald Festival again this year by offering a number of guided walks through the Worth Estate, celebrating the joy and beauty of Worth.  The walks were incredibly popular last year and so this year we will offer 2 walks on Thursday 12th Sep, departing at 10.30am and 2pm promptly guided by Fr Patrick. These moderate-level walks will depart from the Abbey Church Piazza and will take approximately 1.5-2hours depending on the group speed. The route is 4.6km and will include some muddy and uphill areas so sensible footwear is a must.  Dogs on leads and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

We will also offer a guided walk on Saturday 16th September from the bus stop outside Balcombe Rail Station to Worth and return, meeting at 10.45am for a prompt departure at 11.00am and returning at 4pm. This 8 mile walk is hilly and will require a level of fitness as it will include uneven ground and some stiles.  This walk is suitable for children who are good walkers. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed.

Bring a picnic to enjoy in the beautiful surroundings or enjoy refreshments which will be available to purchase on the Piazza at Worth Abbey.  You are most warmly invited to join the Monastic Community at Worth in the Abbey Church for Midday Prayer at 1pm or Mass at 5.30pm on Thursday 12th or 5pm on Saturday 14th September.

Please register your intention to join a walk on the High Weald website at https://www.highwealdwalks.org from 16th August.
